N.Y. Bulls (9U) baseball ends championship run

Warwick - The New York Bulls (9 and under division), based is Warwick, completed another successful season this fall by participating in the Cerbo Baseball League against teams from Rockland, Westchester and New Jersey. The Bulls’ season ended Nov. 1 with an 8-5 record. They lost the championship game against New City by a score of 12-11. Throughout the season, the team had a combined batting average of .460 while scoring 98 runs. Demitri Joanow led the offense with a .613 batting average, which included six triples and one home run. Starting pitchers Peter Morano, Mathew Bosch and John Santana led the defense with solid performances. The rest of the team included Brendan Bauer in center field, Michael Cattani at second base and pitching in relief, Jake D’Ercole at first and relieving; Kyle D’Ercole in right field, Kevin Fleming in center and in relief, Teddy Gerstein at first base and in relief, Cole Gill at catcher, Patrick Meehan in right field and catcher, and Brandon Stirt in left. Tryouts Dec. 9 The Bulls (9 and under division), will host a tryout for the spring Cerbo season on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 7-8:30 p.m., at The Humminbirds Training Facility in Middletown. The season kicks off with a weekend tournament at Ripkin Baseball in Aberdeen, Md., on April 28-29.
