Nothing LAX-adaisical about Warwick Youth Lacrosse

— The Warwick U13 boys lacrosse team participated in the Friends of Rhinebeck Lacrosse Tournament, hosted at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, in mid-May.

Friends of Rhinebeck Lacrosse is a student-run booster organization, led by Roan Gideon, a junior in Rhinebeck High School,.

He founded Friends of Rhinebeck Lacrosse when he was a high school freshman so that he and his LAX brothers could enjoy the sport at the high school level in the upper Hudson Valley.

Roan and his lacrosse team organize many fund raisers, but one of their primary fund raisers is a lacrosse tournament.

The Warwick U13 boys’ teams participated in that tournament on May 18, playing a total of four games, including the championship contest against Millbrook.

Warwick Youth Lacrosse U13 won the day, the game and the championship. The coaches are Mike Meade, Thomas Percarpio and Howard Steng.

More important than the win, though, is the Warwick Lacrosse dedication to the sport and the team’s desire to ensure that the completion in LAX continues to grow and the completion gets stronger.

Established in 2002, Warwick Youth Lacrosse is dedicated to promoting the game of lacrosse to boys and girls in grades K through 9th in Warwick.

In addition to teaching the fundamental skills, coaches and team officials make the effort to teach the strategies and teamwork necessary to master the sport by emphasizing sportsmanship, camaraderie and work ethic. We hope to make each player’s involvement with Warwick Youth Lacrosse an experience that will last a lifetime.
