Matt Hansen named Warwick Valley High School's Allstate Student-Athlete of the Week

— Warwick Valley High School is proud to recognize senior Matt Hansen as this week’s Bill Garcia Agency Allstate Insurance Student–Athlete of the Week.
The senior, three-sport standout returns to the slopes as the two-time Section 9 Division II Alpine Ski Champion and ski team captain.
He will pace the Wildcats in their home opener at Mt. Peter on Jan. 8.
Matt recorded 62 tackles and two sacks for the Warwick Valley Football Team as a starter at linebacker and is the top face-off specialist in Section IX for the Boys Lacrosse Team.
Matt is one of Warwick’s top student–athletes with a weighted average of more than 102.8 and he is ranked 11th in a class of 328 students.
He is a member of Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, Chamber Orchestra, Warwick National Honor Society Member and tutors students in his limited free time.
He plans to major in engineering.
He is enrolled in AP Physics, Literature, Government, Biology and Calculus B/C (all for college credit).
He is a four-year scholar–athlete recognized by the NYSPHSAA for an average of 90 or better in all three seasons.
Matt is the son of Scott and Hillary Hansen of Warwick. His brother Christopher is a sophomore in the high school and his sister Hallie attends Warwick Middle School. All three are skiers for the Wildcats this winter.
