Marvin Billups named M-W Athlete of the Week

Central Valley - Marvin Billups, who leads the Monroe-Woodbury varsity boys basketball team in points, rebounds, assists, field goal percentage and blocked shots, has been named the high school’s Athlete of the Week. Last week, Billups scored 28 points, had 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals in Monroe-Woodbury’s victory over John Jay High School. The senior expects to play college basketball next year, as a number of Division I and Division II schools have expressed an interest in him. Each week, the high school’s Athletic Department recognizes a student or students each week who maintain a high degree of success in all areas pertaining to academics while also demonstrating good citizenship and outstanding game sportsmanship.
