Junior varsity hockey team skates to 6-0 victory

Warwick - The Warwick J.V. hockey team shut out Orange County West, 6-0, Sunday night at the Ice Time Sports Complex in Newburgh. After a scoreless opening period, Andrew Chiappone, with an assist by Brendan Doyle, scored the game’s first goal in the second. Steve Carroll followed with an unassisted goal. Jimmy Colgan ended the second-period scoring with a goal, thanks to an assist by Carrie Hallahan. In the third, Warwick goalie Stephen Conklin continued to turn away shots while his teammates added to the score. Taylor Ratti started the third with a unassisted goal. Hallahan scored the fifth goal with an assist by Zack Frost. Then Chiappone scored the last goal of the game - and his second of the night, assisted again by Doyle. The victory was Conklin’s first shutout of the season.
