Jonah Bevacqua is the Warwick Valley 'Student Athlete of the Week'

WARWICK — Warwick Valley High School is proud to select senior basketball captain Jonah Bevacqua as this week's Bill Garcia Allstate Student–Athlete of the Week.
Jonah is a two-year starter at center/ power forward for the varsity basketball team. He has averaged double-digit points and rebounds his senior season and is a big contributor for the Wildcats, who qualified for the “AA” Section IX Tournament in consecutive years.
Warwick boys basketball has won 11 games and will play at Washingtonville Tuesday 2/26, a win will put the Cats in the semifinal at Kingston 2/28.
Jonah is a solid B student who has taken a challenging course load, including English Honors and AP Government and Politics for college credit.
The 6’6” senior is one of the top forwards in the division and is being recruited as a collegiate basketball player by Hunter College, Kean and Farmingdale.
He plans to pursue a degree in communications.
Jonah is the son of David and Sharon Bevacqua of Warwick. His sister Rachel is a sophomore at Purchase and younger sister Julia is an eighth grader at the Warwick Valley Middle School.
