Jason Nazari chosen as WVHS’s ‘Student-Athlete of the week’

WARWICK — Jason Nazari has been named as this week’s Warwick Valley High School “Student–Athlete” through the program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.

The senior soccer and track athlete signed a national letter of intent to play soccer at Belmont Abbey College in Mount Holly, N.C. Belmont competes in Conference Carolina of the NCAA Division II. Jason will receive a grant and aid package to cover nearly one-third of the cost for his tuition room and board. He plans to major in accounting and minor in sports management.

Jason played center midfield for the varsity soccer team and was a recipient of the Superintendent’s Scholar–Athlete Award for 2012 fall soccer. He also has run track as a senior and competed as a varsity diver as a freshman.

Jason is the son of Dawn and Ed Nazari of Warwick. His brother Brian is a 2010 Warwick Valley High School graduate and attends Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, N.J.
