Warwick — Forward and defense Devon Lafreniere of Warwick assisted in a key game that gained Pomfret School’s Girls Varsity Hockey Team the 2005 Harrington Invitational Championship on Saturday, Dec. 17. This was the second time the team had earned the title. Coached by Sara Wood, the team won three games against Rivers, Lawrence, and Nobles, the reigning champs and host, during the eighth annual two-day event. “Up and down the bench, it was a great effort from everyone, from seniors to freshmen,” said Coach Wood. Lafreniere is the daughter of Richard and Donna Lafreniere of Warwick. Pomfret School is a co-educational boarding and day college preparatory school for students in grades 9-12, and postgraduates.
