Hannah Hamling to attend Georgetown University

— Warwick Valley High School student-athlete Hannah Hamling has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where she will study and play volleyball.
Hamling is a four-year varsity starter and middle hitter and senior captain .
Her career highlights include:
• Leader in kills and blocks for the Division Champion Wildcats.
• Four time Times Herald-Record Volleyball All Star, NYSSWA “AA” Volleyball All State Selection.
• Plans to train this summer in Finland with the Finnish National Team.
• Selected to USA Volleyball High Performance National Training Program and member of USA New York Travel Program.
Hamling was recruited by Georgetown University Head coach Toby Rens. Georgetown competes in the Big East Conference along with Villanova, Creighton, Xavier and Butler.
Hamling received interest from Harvard University, University of Pittsburgh, George Washington University and University of Pennsylvania.
She plans to study bio-medical engineering.
Academic accomplishments• Grade Point Average of 104.1; ranked fifth out of 325 seniors (top 2 percent of her class)

Hamling is the daughter of Caroline Hamling (WVHS Class of 1979) and David Hamling (WVHS Class of 1977) of Warwick. Her sister Luci is a 2009 graduate and nursing student at LIU and her brother Cole Hamling is a 2007 graduate employed at Zircar Ceramics.
