FLORIDA — The Florida U9 Strikers participated in the 17th Annual Bruce Oremus Memorial Soccer Tournament sponsored by the Highland United Soccer Club earlier this month

The team competed against Cornwall, Newburgh, Highland and Hyde Park and finished the day as champions.

The competition was tough and each nail-biting match came down to the wire with all teams fighting for the win. The Strikers won against Newburgh and Cornwall and tied Hyde Park and Highland.

The team coaches were very proud of all their players and how well they played as a team.

Coach John Campaña told his players that this win was even more special because this was the first team under his direction that has taken first place in a tournament at this facility.

The team wrapped up the indoor season on a positive note and is now preparing for the spring outdoor soccer season.
