Florida U10 takes first during weekend tourney
Florida - The Florida U10 boys travel team won three games and tied a fourth at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome to take first place in the first tournament of the winter season. The tournament was hosted by SUFC and was named The World Cup 2006. Florida, which represented Scotland in tournament play, beat Carmel 1-0, Washingtonville 3-0, SUFC 1-0, and tied Minisink 1-1. Florida goals were scored by Jake Kinley, Devin Wood and Nicholas Thomas. The Florida defense did an awesome job keeping all the teams’ offenses on their toes and away from the goal. Goalie Dalton Sargent allowed only one goal to be scored against Florida during the entire tournament. The team, coached by Doug Wood and John Gardiner, travels to Greenwood Lake this coming Saturday for their second tournament.
