Warwick - The U12B Warwick Fire met its match playing the Kingston Revolution, but came out on top with a 3-2 win, keeping the Fire undefeated. Nick Daigle got the Fire started with a breakaway shot at the very start of the game that just went high of the net. A few minutes later with a pass by Philip Goska, Daigle got a chance at another breakaway shot that made it past the reach of the Kingston goalie. Shortly afterwards, a pass from fellow mid-fielder Gregory Snigur, gave Nick Blomfield the opportunity to increase the Fire lead to 2-0 with a shot from outside the 18-yard box. Kingston responded with its own breakaway that was beyond the reach of Fire goalie Matt Unick. Minutes later, on another Kingston breakaway, Unick made a save that even had the Kingston fans in awe. Finally, Kingston tied the game with a goal that many Warwick supports felt might have been off-side. The Fire had an opportunity to go ahead with a penalty but the Revolution goalie did well to save it. Toward the end of the game, a shot by Goska forced the goalie into conceding a corner from which Blomfield found Michael Bedross, who scored with an outstanding first time volley into the net to give the Fire its third goal of the game. The game was quite a work-out for all the players, especially the mid-fielders, as the ball passed from end to end with every play. The Fire has this coming weekend off but will be training for their next away game against Hyde Park Lightning on Oct. 15 and the Columbus Weekend Pequannock Fall Classic tournament.
