In the 3rd quarter AMI Services Inc. rallied and ran right through Loughran’s defense to score 3 goals, and then to connect with another on a break away beating out Loughran’s defense. AMI Services Inc.’s final goal came off a Loughran’s defender which of course was completely accidental. Jenn Erbeck, goalie for Loughran’s who was playing defense, hustled up to connect on her first goal ever, again assisted by Jeaninne Smith. Lisa Antona from E.P. Jansen Nursery helped back on defense for the Loughran’s. The score was high, it was a great game for both teams. Championship Finals Date: Sunday, Nov. 20 Teams: Loughran’s (Salisbury Mills) vs. Hook and Ladder (Washingtonville) Final score: Loughran’s 1, Hook and Ladder 2 This was a great game. Hook and Ladder scored in the 1st quarter and kept the lead until the 4th when Loughran’s was able to tie things up 1-1 with a goal by Briget O’Dell. Loughran’s went into overtime were Hook and Ladder took the lead again and won the game. Hook and Ladder has an amazing offense and an oustanding goalie. Where as Loughran’s all of their players are equally talented. Many of the players on Loughran’s played throughout the season with injuries and never giving up on themselves or their team, always pushing. Loughran’s was missing their goalie, Jenn Erbeck, which hurt the team. They had to pull players off the field to fill the void. Goal was played by Rachel Boccard, Angie Trzepkowski, and Jeaninne Smith. All three players defended the goal extremely well, keeping it a tight game for Loughran’s. Loughran’s was able to take shots on goal but just could not connect with more than one. The Hook and Ladder team is known for blowing away their opposing teams. For Loughran’s to finish the game 2-1 says a lot for this team.
