Father and daughter complete last New York Century Bicycle Tour

Lara Mollica and Steve Butfilowski of Greenwood Lake recently completed the final 105-mile bicycle tour of New York City.

After 30 years the tour organized by Transportation Alternatives, a non-profit bicycle advocacy organization, has ended.

Riders navigated city streets with cars and utilized green ways and bicycle paths when available.

Starting at the top of Central Park, the route traveled the length of Manhattan, across the Brooklyn Bridge, through Brooklyn, Queens and around the perimeter of the Bronx within a 12-hour time limit.

Mollica has ridden the tour while times and Butfilowski has completed 18 tours.
