Emma Bodeker selected as ‘Student-Athlete’

WARWICK — Senior Emma Bodeker was selected as the Warwick Valley High School “Student-Athlete” for the week of Nov. 16 under the program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.
A standout athlete in soccer, indoor track and lacrosse, Emma led the Lady Wildcat soccer team with 15 goals and four assists this season.
Emma, who served as team captain this past season, has verbally committed to attend the College of St. Rose in Albany where she will play soccer for the Division 1 Northeast 10 Champion.
Two-time state scholar-athlete
Emma is committed to success in the classroom. She has taken four advanced placement courses for college credit and is currently enrolled in AP biology and government. She plans to major in biology and exercise science in college.
Emma has been recognized by the NYSPHSAA as a scholar athlete for two years.
Dancing, community service
Meanwhile, she is an accomplished Irish step dancer as well as a member of the Warwick Junior Ambulance Corps.
She is the daughter of Carl and Chris Bodeker of Warwick. Her sister Abbey, a sophomore, also is an outstanding student athlete and soccer goalie for the Wildcats. Emma’s brothers Eric and Alex attend St. Stephen’s-St. Edwards School and are future Wildcat soccer stars.
