Emily Jados named Warwick’s ‘Student-Athlete of the Week’

WARWICK — Emily Jados has been selected as the Warwick Valley High School’s “Student–Athlete of the Week” through the program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.
Emily has been a member of the girls track program (cross country, indoor and outdoor track) since 8th grade, specializing in distance and middle distance. She was a part of the cross country team that won the division and county championship this fall; she also followed that up with a very successful indoor season.
Emily also finished third in the pole vault during last year’s county meeting; she has been grounded this year due to IT Band issues.
This student-athlete has maintained an academic average above 90 throughout her four years in high school and was recently inducted to the Warwick National Honor Society.
This year she is taking three courses for college credit (AP Government, AP Biology and OCCC Algebra and Trigonometry).
In her limited free time, Emily is a volunteer for the Pine Island Ambulance Corps.
She has been accepted to Coastal Carolina and Marywood University; she plans to study nursing next fall.
Emily is the daughter of Lou and Joann Jados of Pine Island. Her sister Kristen will graduate this spring from Penn State University with a degree in elementary education.
