East Arm Rowing Club holds registration for Learn-to-Row program and Regatta on March 30

    — The East Arm Rowing Club of Greenwood Lake will register participants for its annual spring Learn-to-Row program and Greenwood Lake Challenge Rowing Regatta on Saturday, March 30, from 9 to 11 a.m.
    Signups will be at the club’s boathouse located at 69 Sterling Road, Greenwood Lake.
    Mail-in registration is available with a strict March 30 deadline to EARC, P.O. Box 301, Greenwood Lake, NY 10925.
    Registrants will be able to tour the boathouse and receive a brief introduction of the boats and additional equipment.
    The fee of $130 per rower covers weekly training sessions with experienced coaches.
    On-the-water training begins April 21 Rowers must commit to the six-week program and Race Day on Sunday, June 2, beginning at 8 a.m.
    Men and women wishing to participate must be 18 years or older, of good health, able to swim, able to lift 35 pounds overhead and sign a required waiver.
    Every effort will be made to combine rowers in teams of four based on preferred practice time, age, athletic ability and competitive desire.
    Participants will have the same team, coach and chosen practice time for the duration of the program.
    There is no limit to the number of years a rower can participate in this program.
    On-the-water training begins Sunday, April 21.
    There will be an optional indoor technical session for registered rowers in the program at the West Point Boat House on Saturday, April 13, at 9 a.m. for an additional small fee.
