Dyan Jones named M-W athlete of the week

CENTRAL VALLEY-Dyan Jones, a senior on the Girls Varsity soccer team, has been named the Monroe-Woodbury High School athlete of the week. Jones leads the Monroe-Woodbury Girl’s soccer team with five goals and an assist. This week she scored twice against Middletown in the team’s 5-0 victory. She also scored a goal against Long Island powerhouse Walt Whitman in a game that ended in a 1-1 tie. The team record is 5-1 as they approach the second half of the season. Each week, the M-W Athletic Department recognizes a student or students each week who maintain a high degree of success in all areas pertaining to academics while also demonstrating good citizenship and outstanding game sportsmanship.
