Despite strong effort, Florida falls to Minisink 3-0

Florida - The Florida U-11 Boys Travel Team lost their first game of the season in Minisink this past Sunday by a score of 3-0. In the first half of the game, the Florida defense stopped many attempts at goals by Minisink. Goalie Dalton Sargent made six excellent saves, but Minisink kept attacking and finally pushed the ball through to score. Jake Kinley, Zachary Cuzo, Joseph Pillmeier each made attempts to score, but all attempts were shut down by the Minisink goalie. Then, right before the half-time whistle blew Minisink, scored again. In the second half, Florida picked up speed pushing the ball to the goal. Devin Wood, Robby VanRaamsdonk, Nicholas Thomas and Jake Krysmowski all had great shots, but the Minisink goalie was unstoppable. Sargent made 3 more saves, but Minisink sealed the deal with one more goal. In the first half, Florida had five saves and five attempts at goal; in the second half, the team had three saves and another five attempts at goal. Despite the loss the boys held their heads up high. They look forward to playing the Strikers again on their home pitch later in the season.
