Dermot Egan named Warwick's 'Student-Athlete of the Week'

WARWICK — Warwick Valley High School has named Dermot Egan as this week’s "Student–Athlete of the Week" under the program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.
The junior is a standout in both football and basketball.
He scored 25 and 17 points to helped the Wildcats to a victory over Cornwall in last Friday night in the Coaches vs. Cancer Tip Off Tournament at Warwick Valley.
Dermot was named to the All Tournament Team for 2013 averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Dermot is an excellent student whose 91.5 grade point average has drawn interest from many colleges as a student–athlete and football and basketball prospect.
The 6’5” basketball center (and tight end and defensive end in football) is one of the top centers in the section and will be force in Section 9 basketball.
Dermot has been recognized as a scholar-athlete for the 2013 fall (90 or better average in season).
Dermot is the son of Eileen and Brian Egan. He has a brother Brendan (freshman at Warwick) and two sisters Kayleigh (Middle School) and Fiona (Park Avenue).
