Dan Peterson is Warwick's 'Student-Athlete of the Week'

WARWICK — Daniel Peterson as this week’s Warwick Valley High School "Student–Athlete of the Week" under the program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.
The junior Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor track star won the Orange County and Section IX individual title this fall for Cross Country and was a key contributor to the team's Section IX Championship.
Dan finished 37th at the state championships and qualified for the Nationals in the Steeple Chase in the spring of 2013.
He was voted Most Valuable Performer of the fall cross country season.
Dan is an excellent student with a 92.7 average through the first quarter of his junior year. He has been recognized by the NYSPHSAA as a scholar-athlete every season of his first three years of high school and is enrolled in many challenging classes including chemistry, algebra, trigonometry and Honors U.S. History.
Dan is the son of Jen and Bruce Peterson of Warwick. His brothers were outstanding runners for the Wildcats: Stephen recently graduated from SUNY Oneonta and Aaron is a freshman at Xavier. .
