Chester JV fights its way to 5-5
Chester The Chester Boys Junior Varsity Basketball lost 2 and won 1 these last two weeks for a record of 5-5. The Chester boys fought hard up to the end as they were edging Florida each of the first three quarters, but Florida pulled ahead in the 4th for a 47-40 win. Joe Salthouse’s 14 and Dennis Urena’s 13 led the Chester Hambletonians with both going 4-5 on the foul line. Manny Georges added 5 and Brian Lys 4. Ronnie Defreese and Danny Conklin each added 2. In their game against Tri-Valley, Chester was trailing each quarter but came out strong the second half and was narrowly defeated, 45-40. Dennis Urena had the game high of 17 points. Joe Salthouse added 7, and Danny Conklin 4. Tim Schust and Brian Lys each added 3 and Scott Ruocco and Manny Georges 2 each. Chester played a great game against Livingston Manor, winning 64-33 with each player getting court time and with most scoring. Brian Lys led with 10 and Dennis Urena 9. Joe Salthouse added 8 and Justin Hernandez 7. Scott Ruocco had 5, with Tim Schust, Danny Conklin and J.P. Hackett adding 4 each. Widley Vill, Ray Garcia and Nick Rugnetta each added 3. Ronnie Defreese and Amani Riply had 2 each. Great defense and hustle from Horatio Tlea and Manny Georges for the win.
