Basketball team captain Jordan Totaro selected as WVHS’s ‘Student–Athlete of the Week’

WARWICK — Jordan Totaro has been chosen this week’s Warwick Valley High School “Student–Athlete of the Week” through the program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.
The senior basketball captain was a key contributor to the Wildcats’ 43–40 victory over Monroe-Woodbury last Friday evening.
Jordan and teammate Brad Garcia were named to the Coaches vs. Cancer All Tournament Team over the winter break. Jordan scored 19 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds in the Wildcats’ game against New Paltz.
Jordan is an honor roll student whose maintains an unweighted 90.0 grade point average with a schedule that includes AP Environmental Science, AP Literature and AP Government for college credit.
He has been recognized by the NYSPHSAA as a scholar–athlete for football and basketball for three consecutive seasons.
Jordan also was named to the All Section 9 Football Team and participated in the Section 9 All–Star game in November at NFA.
Jordan is active in community service projects including Applefest and the Ringwood, N.J., Soup Kitchen.
He has applied to Penn State, Albany, Cortland and Marist; his top choice is Springfield.
Jordan is the son of Laura and Robert Totaro of Warwick. His sister Taylor is a class of 2010 graduate of WVHS.
