Basketball player Elizabeth Kisty named Warwick's 'Student -Athlete of the Week'

— Elizabeth “Liz” Kisty has been selected as Warwick Valley High School "Student–Athlete of the Week" under the program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.

Liz is a three-year varsity basketball player, who has been a key contributor to the team since she was brought up to the Varsity. She also was selected captain her senior year.

Liz is a two time NYSPHSAA Scholar–Athlete, currently ranked third in her senior class (96 unweighted GPA).

Liz is a tremendous worker on and off the court. Her weighted grade point average of 102.7 has been achieved while taking three college courses including college algebra, trigonometry and calculus through SUNY Orange and eight advanced placement courses for college credit.

Liz is a member of the Student Senate and has been selected for the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society).

She volunteers for the EMS Junior Ambulance Core and still finds time to work at Fratello Restaurant in the Village.

Liz has narrowed her college decisions to the University of Pennsylvania, Binghamton and Stony Brook where she plans to continue her education in the field of pre–medicine.

Liz is the daughter of Joe and Amy Kisty of Warwick. Her sister Rachel also is a graduate of Warwick Valley High School.
