TUXEDO — The George F. Baker High School Girls Varsity Basketball team is enjoying a successful season both on and off the court.
Led by seniors Cori DeLisi, Erin Murphy, Raven Coffiel and Denise Morgan, the team has qualified for sectionals with an overall record of 12-5.
Academically, all of the players are on the honor roll with a team grade point average of 92 percent.
This season they also reached another important goal: With the help of an enthusiastic group of junior varsity players, the girls dedicated a recent game against Middletown to honor friends and family affected by cancer and raised more than $1,000 for the Coaches vs. Cancer campaign by collecting donations for message cards.
