Ava Ghobadian and Jacqueline Grundfast of Warwick win OCIAA Doubles Championship

GOSHEN — On Friday, Oct. 14, the Warwick Valley Varsity Girls Tennis Team attended the championship finals at the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament.
Three Warwick doubles teams moved on to qualify for the Section 9 Tournament.
The entire team and Coach Susan Filingeri came off of a very strong season, taking home the Division II Varsity Tennis Title for Orange County for a second year in a row.
• Co-captains Jacqueline Grundfast, a senior, and Ava Ghobadian, a junior, defended their title and won the OCIAA Girls Doubles Championship for a second year.
• The other girls doubles teams moving on to Sections next week are semi-finalists Uliana Kitar, a senior, and her partner Stephanie Menoutis, a junior.
• Freshman Gabby Donohue and her partner Samantha Killin, an eighth grader, are quarter finalists also moving on to Sections next week.
