At 11-0, Warwick golfers continue unbeaten streak

    Warwick - The Warwick Valley High School boys golf team had a full schedule last week with four matches in five days. Warwick shot a league low team score of 190 in Monday’s match against Port Jervis High School (240) at Port Jervis Country Club. Jeff Smith carded a new league low individual score of one under par 33, followed by Nick Schiavo (36), Sam Ferrec (39), Steve Garby (40) and Brendan Wall (42). Port’s low man was Conor Norrell with a 40. In Tuesday’s home match against Minisink Valley (228), Warwick (198) played consistent golf. Jeff Smith lead the team with a 38. Tom Garby (39), Steve Garby (40), Nick Schiavo (40), and Sam Ferrec (41) filled out the squad. Seth Mortenson shot a 41 as low man for Minisink. Warwick (207) hosted Port Jervis (249) at Warwick Country Club on Wednesday. With near perfect weather, the team had a strong showing with Steve Garby as low man with 39. Other scores for Warwick were Sam Ferrec (40), Jeff Smith (42), Nick Schiavo (42) and Tom Garby (44). Conor Norrell was again low man for Port with a 45. Thursday, Warwick struggled with their game at Central Valley Golf Club, recording their team high score for the season of 222. However, they were still able to win, defeating Monroe-Woodbury (228) by a small margin bringing their overall record to 11-0 (OCIAA 6-0). Individual scores for Warwick were Jeff Smith (42), Steve Garby (44), Nick Schiavo (44), Sam Ferrec (46) and Tom Garby (46).
