American Memorial Triathlon coming to Greenwood Lake

— The American Memorial Triathlon is being held on Sunday, Sept. 8, in Greenwood Lake. This athletic event combines a half mile swim, a 16-mile bicycle ride, and a four-mile run. It is limited to the first 300 who register.

Participants may pre-register online at americanmemorialtriathlon.com. The cost is $75 for individuals or $170 for teams of team. Race day registration is $80 and $175 for teams of three.

Participants may check in on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park, or on Race day from 6:30 to 8 a.m. The race starts at 8:30 a.m., rain or shine, with the half mile swim. The 16-mile bike race goes around the lake, followed by a four-mile run. Participants must be 15 years of age or older.

Participants in the AMT exemplify a healthy, active lifestyle. This is an educational activity that promotes proper nutrition and exercise. Celebrating its 17th year, the AMT at Greenwood Lake is a fun event for racers, family and friends.
