Amateur bowling tournament

    Chester — A bowling shootout to be held at Colonial Lanes in Chester is a chance to play in the world’s largest amateur bowling tournament . Colonial Lanes, located at 78 Brookside Ave., will be hosting the region’s local tournament at 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 7. Check-in starts at 10:30 a.m. Local winners will qualify for a free tip to Las Vegas for the national $100,000 bowl off to be aired on ESPN on Sunday, June 18, bowl off winners compete against Chris Barnes and Pete Weber for $150,000 in cash and prizes. The local games will have bowlers in four divisions competing against each other in a skins format. Each frame is worth points. The bowler with the most points after three games wins the division.
