Airman of the Year

Senior Airman Stephen Conklin, a graduate of Warwick Valley High School, has been named the Airman of the Year for the 55th Security Forces Squadron of the Mission Support Group at Offutt Air Force Base outside of Omaha, Nebraska. Offutt Air Force Base is the headquarters of the United States Strategic Command; the security squadron has more than 600 members. Conklin is in his third year of military service. He has recently been accepted to the military working dog handler assignment, focused on training dogs for military purposes at Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Dawn and Kevin Conklin of Warwick. Conklin graduated Warwick Valley High School with honors in 2009; during his high school career, he was a standout lacrosse and hockey player for the Wildcats.
