Sports Fitness and Fun to host gymnastics team competition
Florida, N.Y. Sports Fitness and Fun will host the 2007 United States Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs Team Cup Competition from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10. The event is the organization’s first annual Team Cup Competition. Over 200 gymnasts are registered for the competition. “The competition gives hundreds of gymnasts a chance to demonstrate the results of their years of hard work,” said Irene Lerz, New York State director of the United States Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs and gymnastics director at Sports Fitness and Fun. “Events like this also encourage kids to stay in gymnastics through college and give them a feel for how college competitions are held. Everyone at Sports Fitness and Fun is honored that our club was chosen as the site for this important gymnastics competition.” The competition will be organized into three sessions. Admission to view the event is $5 per adult and $2 for children under 12. Over 100 gymnastic clubs in 28 states are members of the association, which is headquartered in New York City. Its mission is to support the clubs and their teams by enhancing member organizations through sound business and competitive programs. The association uses the Women’s Gymnastics NCAA Collegiate Program as its model for its National Competitive Program. For more information, call 651-1000 or visit www.SportsFitnessFun.com.
