Speeder arrested after forcing drivers off road

    Goshen —A Vernon, N.J., man was taken into custody on June 29 after allegedly speeding at 88 miles an hour on Pulaski Highway through the towns of Goshen and Warwick. At approximately 6:40 p.m., Officer Brian Prisco of the Town of Goshen Police Department saw a white Dodge pickup with New Jersey plates speeding in a 55-mph zone south on Pulaski Highway near Pumpkin Swamp Road. According to the police report, Prisco pursued the truck and saw the driver, Dallas J. Kruzelnick, 21, of 4 Greg Norman Court, Vernon, N.J., pass and force several cars off the road in a no-passing zone. After an alert was broadcast via 911 Central, the Town of Warwick Police positioned units along Pulaski Highway. Kruzelnick crashed his vehicle and ran off the highway near Mount Eve Road, and then police took him into custody. He received minor injuries but refused any medical attention, police said. There were no other injuries to police officers or motorists. The Town of Goshen Police and Warwick Police Department charged him with felony and misdemeanor reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, possession of a controlled substance, driving while ability impaired by drugs and reckless driving. Additional vehicle and traffic law violations were charged. State Police assisted Goshen and Warwick in the pursuit. Kruzelnick was arraigned before the Goshen Town Justice Kimberly VanHasster and was committed to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail.
