‘So horrible. So sad'

To the editor: It is so sad to read and see in the papers and on TV the horror that has befallen our nation's beautiful old city of New Orleans with its half million inhabitants and much of the Gulf Coast to its east. The political right wing hacks who helped our president get elected and were then appointed to jobs they knew nothing about are apparently the responsible ones. Their neglect and lack of knowledge helped the hurricane cause the mounting deaths of many thousands and destruction of so many torn apart American families, their possessions and homes. So horrible.
