Skeletal remains found in Sterling Forest Lake area
WARWICK-New York State Police in Monroe report the finding of a skeletal remains in a wooded area near Sterling Forest Lake, also known as Blue Lake, in the Town of Warwick. Two hikers walking on state land reported to State Park Police that they had found a human skull. The officers who responded to the scene located the remains, along with sneakers and some clothing. A preliminary forensic investigation has determined that the remains are of a male, age unknown, and that the remains have most likely been in the location for five to ten years. The subject was wearing Nike sneakers, size 12 -13. The remains were sent to the New York State Police Forensic Investigation Center in Albany for further analysis and identification. Anyone who may have information regarding possible lost hikers or missing persons in that area, and during that time period, is asked to call the State Police at Monroe at 845-782-8311.
