Warwick — On Saturday, Aug. 20, Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton, Mayor Michael Newhard and Michael Johndrow, executive director of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce joined owner Michael Rinaldi, his staff and associates for the grand opening of Sick Sitters. Rinaldi, director of Sick Sitters, said his service offers care for sick children when parents are at work. The service is located at 9 Grand St., across from St. Anthony Community Hospital and next door to the Niaz A. Momin Pediatric Resource Center at 7 Grand St. The center is the office of Dr. Ed Rossi, a pediatrician. Rinaldi said that Sick Sitters provides sick care services in a safe and nurturing environment for children with minor illnesses such as fever, strep throat, pink eye and upper respiratory infections. Medical care, under the consultation of Rossi, is available at all times. The program allows parents to be at work while a qualified sick sitter cares for their children. Sick Sitters is open Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. There are hourly rates up to five hours and a daily rate for those that need a more extended stay. Call 544-7024 for details about pre-registration before your child is sick.
