Warwick - More than 140 Warwick Valley elementary and Middle School students had their artwork on display at the Port of Call Gallery in Warwick last weekend as it hosted the Reflections Exhibit. Reflections is a cultural arts program sponsored by the National PTA which encourages students to express their thoughts and feelings through the creative arts. There are six categories the children can participate in: visual arts, photography, literature, music, dance choreography and film/video production. This year’s theme was: “My Favorite Place.” Pieces in each category and age group are chosen by a group of local artists to advance to a regional competition. They then have a chance to go on to state and national judging. This year, seven children have advanced to the state level of competition. They are: From Park Avenue Elementary School: • Kirk Kitson - musical composition. • Claudia Sicherman - visual arts. • Emma Brown - visual arts. From Kings Elementary School: • Kaitlin Pevny - film/video production. From Sanfordville Elementary School: • Anders Klass - photography. • Sean Walter - film/video production. From Warwick Valley Middle School: • Farrell Brenner - dance choreography.
