Seniors enjoy special services at Warwick ShopRite

WARWICK - Warwick resident Mildred Kulak lives alone so she can easily handle all of her weekly food shopping on one day each week. And so on Wednesdays, Kulak joins hundreds of other senior citizens who fill their shopping carts at Warwick ShopRite on Route 94 S. Earlier this year Warwick ShopRite instituted a unique program on Wednesdays for seniors, age 62 or older. After the final tally at the check out counter and after applying all special savings on featured items, Price Plus Club discounts, manufacturer coupons, flier specials or what-have-you, seniors receive an additional five per cent discount off their total bill. In addition to the savings, Wednesdays at ShopRite can also be a social event. The store serves free coffee and cake that day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. And Warwick bus service arrives and departs four times during the day. To qualify for this program, a senior citizen must first prove his or her age with a driver’s license or other suitable proof at ShopRite’s customer service counter. A special blue sticker, identifying the holder as a qualified senior, will then be affixed to the customer’s Price Plus Club card. And that’s all there is to it. “This is part of our philosophy to serve this community,” said Warwick ShopRite Manager Bernie McGoldrick. “We hope all our senior citizens will join us on Wednesdays and take advantage of these special savings.” For additional information visit: www.shoprite.com or call 987-1200.
