Albany - State Sen. William J. Larkin Jr. presented his colleague, state Sen. Michael Nozzolio of Fayette, with a T-shirt, mug and baseball hat from the Orange County Choppers to make good on their bet on the state Class AA championship football game. This is the second time in back-to-back years that the senators have made a friendly wager on the state championship football game since schools in their districts have now faced each other in the final game two years in a row. Auburn stunned Monroe-Woodbury 27-26 in overtime for the 2006 title. Larkin, R-C-Cornwall-on-Hudson, reminded Nozzolio that Monroe-Woodbury won the state championship last year by beating Webster High School and vowed to back the student athletes with another wager in the future. “This was a heartbreaking loss for our kids this year,” Larkin said, “but I know they’ll be back stronger than ever next year.”
