Warwick — Those living with scleroderma know how difficult wound care can be and how the smallest of wounds can become major infections if not treated properly. The Scleroderma Support Group of the Hudson Valley will be viewing a video of Dr. Vivien Hsu, Rheumatologist and Assistant Professor at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, N.J., on Saturday, March 24. Dr. Hsu will be discussing wound care as it relates to scleroderma patients. After the video, attendees will share their own experiences along with tried & true remedies they have used in their battles with open wounds. Coffee and bagels will be served. Scleroderma Support Group meetings are held the fourth Saturday of every month at St. Anthony’s Community Hospital, Warwick, from 10 a.m. until noon. Each month, the group focuses on a different topic of concern, providing attendees with information as well as a chance to share their experiences and concerns. Upcoming meetings include “Medications” on April 28 and “Nutrition & Weight Control” on May 26. For more information or to check for meeting cancellations due to inclement weather, call either Fran Batz at 845-986-4451 or June Bisel at 845-294-3865.
