Warwick Valley High School seniors McCauley Tawpash and Akira McKinzie are the recipients of the Albert Wisner Public Library Foundation’s 2011 college scholarships. The topic of this year’s essay competition, upon which the scholarships were awarded, was “How I can spend my life in Warwick and have a positive impact, locally or globally.” A longtime volunteer at Winslow Therapeutic Riding Center, McCauley intends to major in equine science at Morrisville State College. Akira plans a double major in anthropology and media/communications at the Manhattan campus of Fordham University. She and McCauley are pictured here with their parents and with Glenn P. and Susan D. Dickes. Glenn Dickes is a founding member of the Library Foundation; he and his wife have sponsored the scholarships since their inception in 2007.
