Scholarship opportunities available for past grads of WVHS

    Warwick — Scholarships and loans are available for Warwick Valley High School graduates. Those interested in applying should contact the Guidance Office for an application or download it from www.warwickvalleyschools.com. • A. M. Kleeman Jr. Scholarship Eligibility: Must be planning undergraduate or graduate work and be a matriculated student. Must demonstrate financial need. Must have achieved an outstanding academic record. Amount: To be determined. Awarded once only for undergraduate studies and once only for graduate studies. Procedure: Complete a Common Application including page 3, which is available in the High School Guidance Office Deadline: May 1 • Captain Culver Educational Fund (loan) Eligibility: Must be a graduate of Warwick Valley High School who has completed at least two years of work at a college and planning to pursue further education at an accredited four -year institution. Financial need does not appear to be a consideration. Terms: No more than $2,000 with $1,000 in third and $1,000 in fourth year of study. Loan rate of interest is not to exceed 3 percent per annum. Procedure: Applicant must write letter to: Assistant Superintendent for Business, Warwick Valley School District, PO Box 595, Warwick, N.Y. 10990 Deadline: May 1 • James Douglas Bonnyman Student Aid Fund (loan) Purpose: To provide funds for education at a college, university, technical or vocational school, with preference to a student planning to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Eligibility: W.V.H.S. graduate in need of financial assistance. Terms: Amount can vary up to $1,000. Preference is given to a student who plans to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Procedure: Write a letter requesting loan to: Douglas R. Stage, Esq., 23 West St., P.O. Box 410, Warwick, N.Y. l0990. This letter should clearly state college plans, the amount requested and a statement of financial need. Deadline: May 1 • Margaret B. Tilt Scholarship Eligibility: Should be planning to pursue a baccalaureate or graduate degree and be a matriculated student. Award is not based on need. Amount: To be determined. Awarded once only for undergraduate studies and once only for graduate studies. Terms: This amount is a loan without interest which will not need to be repaid if the student completes the requirements for the degree for which the award is intended. Procedure: Complete a Common Application, which is available in the High School Guidance Office Deadline: May 1 • Kate Fowler Chase Fund (loan) Eligibility: Must be a graduate of Warwick Valley High School. Must have majored in music. Must be planning to continue his/her musical education. Must be planning to attend an accredited college. Amount: Sum not in excess of $500.
