Saved by a great Dane!

We have been asking readers to send us interesting stories about their pets through our Web site www.westmilfordmessenger.com. You don’t have to register and you can even include a picture. This story was sent to us by Jane Verstoep: Written from my Pomeranian’s point of view: On Thursday, March 15, 2007 my vet. Dr. Bullock, sent me to the Newton Emergency Hospital. You see, I needed a blood transfusion because my own immune system was attacking my red blood cells. My mom never heard of such a thing for dogs. I heard the vet say “She’s critical.” It meant I had a 50/50 chance that my life would be curtains. But “Praise the Lord!,” as my mom would say — a Great Dane gave blood on my behalf. Imagine that! That Great Dane’s Mom had to stop what she was doing to run her dog to my rescue. I hope they see my exciting story in this paper, cause I want to say: Thank You! Sincerely, Pom Pom Girl
