Warwick - At Sanfordville Elementary School, the students took the New York State Math tests (March 6-10). I was one of those students, but instead of me talking about my experience, I got my classmates’ opinion. Before the first part of the test, my classmates hoped that it was going to be harder than the E.L.A. test but easier than the Social Studies test. They also hoped that the rulers and protractors were going to be different than the ones we used on the practice test because the ones we used for the practice were made out of card stock so the tools were hard to move around on the paper. After we took the first part of the test, I went back to my classmates and asked them what they thought of it. Most of them thought it was easy. Others thought it was challenging. The one thing everyone liked was how the rulers and protractors were made our of laminated cardboard, not card stock. Almost everyone agreed that it was harder than the E.L.A. test, yet easier than the Social Studies test. The thing that almost everyone was nervous about was knowing how much time they had left. This put a lot of pressure on all of us. After Part 1, we now know what to expect and are reading for Part 2.
