WARWICK-The June Party, one of the major social events in Warwick, is only a week away and the SACHA (St. Anthony Community Hospital Auxiliary) committees are working hard to make this year's event another huge success. Committee chairs and members recently met with the managers of Warwick's Hickory Hill Golf Course to finalize plans for SACHA's 33rd annual June "Under the Tent" Party scheduled for Saturday, June 19. The gala affair will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. on the picturesque grounds of Hickory Hill Golf Course, just off Route 17A in Warwick, NY. The theme of this year's June Party is "Circle of Friends." Although guests are invited to come in casual or more formal attire, those who are creative and wish to come in a costume that's in tune with this year's theme are encouraged to do so. Some suggestions given so far are Rhett and Scarlet, Anthony and Cleopatra, George and Martha, Gable and Lombard and so forth. "We selected this theme," said Gloria Okon, president of SACHA, "because throughout all these years, we realized that this community, which has always given its generous support to our organization and St. Anthony Community Hospital, is truly a circle of friends." Seating for the June Party will be under the traditional "tent" and guests will enjoy an open bar, hors d'oeuvres, buffet dinner and gourmet desserts. J&N Music, last year's popular DJ, will return to provide the musical entertainment and dancing. There will also be special skits, prizes and surprises and lots of fun. Raffle tickets, currently on sale, offer 10 cash prizes and jewelry. The grand prize is $1,000. Gloria Okon and Terry Gavan, SACHA's vice president, will co-chair this year's event. "All of our members," said Okon, "work hard to make this affair a big success every year. I am especially grateful to all the committees and their chairpersons." The entire proceeds from the June Party will be used to help support St. Anthony Community Hospital. Last year the sold out event raised $22,000 for the purchase of new equipment for the hospital. Tickets are $50 per person and may be obtained by contacting Linda Ridella at 986-9741.
