Rotary Youth Leader

Laketha Costello, a sophomore at Warwick Valley High School, was one of five students chosen to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Conference at Mount St. Mary’s College in Newburgh from June 25-29, where they learned what it takes to be a leader, and that leaders come in many different forms. The students also were involved with many activities that took place later in the evenings after their leadership speakers during the day. Some activities included martial arts, swing dancing and an open discussion on different issues taking place in the world. “This conference was a lot of fun and a wonderful learning experience,” Laketha said. “The conference has changed my life for the better and I encourage whoever is nominated to attend, to go because you won’t regret one moment.” (Provided photo)
