Rotary welcomes assemblywoman

Assemblywoman Annie Rabbitt (R-Greenwood Lake) attended the weekly Warwick Rotary luncheon at the Landmark Inn on Nov. 30. After being introduced and welcomed by Ed Maddalena, president of the organization, Rabbitt reminded the members, many of whom are small business owners, that she has a unique position in the State Assembly as a business owner rather than a lawyer. “When I speak,” she said, “I do so with the knowledge gained from my background as a businesswoman and as an advocate for this community.” Rabbitt reported that the Republican minority had recently elected James Tedisco as its new leader and that under his leadership they hoped to pass legislation that would help small business and also lower property taxes. “The man we elected on our side of the aisle is feisty and that will be a big help,” she said. “No one will get elected next year if they do not have a plan to reduce property and school taxes.” (Photo by Roger Gavan)
