Red Cross seeks Americorps volunteers

    New York — The American Red Cross in Greater New York is seeking volunteers who can participate in the AmeriCorps National Preparedness and Response Corps program that has been established to work in Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Sullivan counties. The assignment includes teaching disaster planning and emergency preparedness seminars, participating in community outreach programs and providing support for families affected by local emergencies. The positions require a commitment of a 40-hour week, Monday through Friday. Minimum age is 18. A college degree and significant work experience is desired.
