Rabbitt discloses member item grants totaling $103,000
Goshen - Assemblywoman Annie Rabbitt, R-C-Greenwood Lake, identified the projects she helped fund with $103,000 in member item grants, which were included in the 2007-08 state budget that was adopted Sunday. “This is taxpayer money that is being used for local community projects,” Rabbitt said in making the announcement Wednesday. “Oftentimes local governments and community organizations call upon me for financial assistance so that they can afford certain projects. I use my member item grants to answer as many requests as possible. Member item money usually doesn’t fund the entire project but it helps.” The grants were evenly divided between seven municipalities in the 97th Assembly District as well as 13 incorporated villages. The grants included: Ramapo-Catskill Library System: Reading program $5,000. Town of Goshen: Fuel dispensing system $4,524. Town of Warwick: Paving project at animal shelter $4,524.
