Rabbi asks for help in finding vandals

New Windsor Rabbi Yacov Borenstein of Chabad Lubavitch of the Mid-Hudson Valley set up two Hanukkah menorahs in the Town of New Windsor on Friday, Dec. 23. At 4 p.m., the rabbi and his son photographed the menorah in Triangle Park and went home. The next morning, the rabbi discovered that a menorah had been violently desecrated and destroyed. The New Windsor Police have been notified and the case has assigned to Detective Digregorio, said Rabbi Borenstein. “But we need your help in both finding the person, and/or persons that vandalized our community menorah, and sending a strong message that the only acceptable behavior is one of social tolerance,” he said, asking for the community to give the police any information they may have about the incident.
