Goshen —The 39-cent issue of the Purple Heart Stamp will be available in local post offices after May 27, state Sen. William J. Larkin Jr. (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) announced this week. “This is fantastic news for our veterans, their families, and the everyday American citizen,” said Senator Larkin, who has been a big supporter of the stamp. The Purple Heart Stamp was originally issued as a 37 cent stamp on May 30, 2003, to honor the sacrifices of members of the U.S. armed forces who have been killed or wounded in action.
